Buffalo, NY – Buffalo's Fire Department is now able to purchase some much needed equipment thanks to a Federal Homeland Security grant.
Buffalo Fire has been awarded with a more than $341,000 federal grant. City Fire Commissioner Michael Lombardo says this round of funding allows him to beef up equipment to protect citizens and firefighters.
This latest round of funding has allowed Lombardo to order five more pumpers and two more ladder trucks. Buffalo was among 15,000 municipalities that applied, but only 2,000 received the funding under the Operations and Firefighter Safety Program.
