Clarence, NY – A Clarence church is reaching out to console the community as it deals with the unsolved murder of Joan Diver.
Wednesday night the pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clarence held a stress and post-trauma support group. The body of Diver was found just off the Clarence bike path on October first, two days after she disappeared.
Investigators say she had been beaten and strangled. As authorities search for a suspect and motive, the community tries to cope with Diver's tragic death.
Steve Biegner is pastor of Zion Lutheran. He says it is important for the Clarence community to share their feelings. Pastor Biegner declined to comment on investigators questioning Steven Diver.
Zion Lutheran is the same church where Diver's funeral was held last Friday. Biegner says the Diver family was very active in Boy Scouts at the church.
