Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown submitted a proposal to lift the wage freeze for city cops. But the leader of the Police union is not pleased.
Brown delivered his plan to the Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority Thursday afternoon.
The control board says it is willing to consider lifting the wage freeze on a union by union basis. But a proposal needs to indicate how the raises will be covered and how the city will save money in the out years.
The Mayor referred to his plan as a working document. He says the control board and PBA need to review it before it is made public and refused to give details.
Police Benevolent Association president Bob Megan is not pleased. He remains confused over which document his union needs to begin examining. Megan told reporters he has received different versions of a proposal which was originally submitted to him in May.
