Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, NY – The Seneca Gaming Corporation Board of Directors is recommending that the Seneca Nation Tribal Council approve construction of a temporary five thousand square foot casino on its Buffalo Creek territory in downtown Buffalo.
The Gaming Corporation wants to be sure that a casino is operational by the end of the first quarter of 2007, in order to ensure that the compact with New York State is honored.
The Board is also recommending that architects immediately begin design of a new permanent facility that does not include Fulton Street, which runs through the site.
Negotiations between the Senecas and the city of Buffalo regarding the sale of the street recently broke down.
