FBI Leader Stops in Buffalo

By Mike Greco

Buffalo, NY – FB1 Director Robert Mueller was in Buffalo on Wednesday addressing various terrorism and criminal issues. Mueller appeared at Buffalo's FBI.

Mueller expressed concern for the potential threat terrorism posses on the Buffalo-Niagara region. He says the FBI will continue to work with local task forces to fight this and other threats to the area.

"We can not become complacent. We have to understand that terrorism will be with us for some time. Ourselves working together with local and state terrorism tasks forces are working hard to uncover these cells," said Mueller.

Mueller also says Canada is examining its counter terrorism laws in response to last month's arrests of 17 terror suspects in Toronto. And with the latest attacks on Israel in the Middle-East, Mueller says the FBI is already taking precautions against any threat from the Hezbollah.

Mueller praised local FBI officials for their work on the Lackawanna Six investigation four years ago, and recognized the Buffalo office as a leader in fighting child pornography.
