Buffalo, NY – Canisius College received more than $800,000 in federal transportation funds Thursday for a new project.
Canisius President Fr. Vincent Cooke says they will use the funding to purchase the Blue Cross-Blue Shield Building on Main Street to help build a state of the art science center. Cooke says the College will also purchase a more than 1,300 space parking facility to deal with a shortage of campus parking.
"The ramp will provide a valuable addition to the campus for our students, faculty and staff," Cooke said. "It will help our neighboring community be removing college-related parking from residential streets."
Cooke noted that the college has already invested $115 million of its own funding on campus improvements.
