State of the State Address Likely to Highlight Government Reforms

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Governor Pataki delivers his final State of the State address Wednesday. WBFO News provides live coverage starting at 1:00. Albany insiders say they expect Pataki will outline some initiatives that will play to voters nationwide. He is considering a run for president in 2008.

The governor delivers his 12th, and final, State of the State message as a "lame duck." He has decided not to seek re-election to a fourth term. Pataki has used this address in past years to outline his initiatives for the coming year. So, what can we expect Wednesday?

Barbara Bartoletti is legislative director of the League of Women Voters of New York State. She joined WBFO's Mark Scott on the phone from Albany. Click the "listen" icon above to hear their conversation now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
