Buffalo, NY – It will now be a little easier to find the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Officials Thursday celebrated installation of a sign for the campus that now hangs over the Kensington Expressway. The sign directs traffic to exit at Locust Street to access the growing Medical Campus.
Tens of million of dollars have been invested in the Campus that is expected to become a major center for medical treatment and research. But its location tucked away inn Buffalo's Fruitbelt neighborhood makes it hard for some to find.
BNMC Chairman Thomas Beecher says the new sign helps point the way to Buffalo's future.
"This is what is going to regenerate our city," Beecher said. "It's right at the edge of downtown. We've got a lot going on here. Now people will know where it is."
Millions of dollars of infrastructure work to the neighborhood is scheduled to begin next year. Beecher says the improvements will make the campus even more accessible.
