Buffalo, NY – The downtown Buffalo DMV office re-opened Tuesday morning.
Hours at the downtown location are 8:30am to 4:15pm Monday through Friday.
Erie County Clerk David Swarts says the additional office could bring in between $1.1 million and $1.4 million in additional dollars that were actually going to other counties.
Erie County was losing business because the Cheektowaga DMV office was the only one left open in the county following budget cuts earlier this year. It's hoped the re-opening of the second office will relieve the long lines at the Cheektowaga DMV location.
Hours at the Cheektowaga office have been changed to offer evening and Saturday hours. It will be closed on Mondays.
The county's beaches remain closed because of the budget crisis, but Erie County's parks are open.
