"Hotel Rwanda" Raises Genocide Awareness Among NCCC Students

By Jillian Bannister

Buffalo, NY – The recently released film "Hotel Rwanda" is raising awareness of acts of genocide. Ten years ago in Rwanda, 800,000 people were slaughtered in 100 days due to lack of international intervention. The film tells the story of how one man saved 1,200 Rwandans during that time.

WBFO's newsroom intern, Jillian Bannister, saw "Hotel Rwanda" at a presentation at an area college recently. As part of her final internship project, Jillian reports on the film and the local reaction to it.
