Four Dead in Buffalo Shooting

By Associated Press

Buffalo, NY – Four people were killed and an 8-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting late Saturday night in Buffalo.

Police say gunmen burst into a two-family house on the city's East Side and shot two men and a woman at close range in the upstairs apartment around 11:30 p.m. They were pronounced dead at the scene, said Detective Sgt. Daniel Figueroa of the Buffalo homicide squad.

They were identified as Robert Brown, 40, who lived in the apartment, and two friends, Gregory Cornwell, 42, and Stacy Guest, 39.

Brown's sister, Tanisha Brown, 26, who lived in the first-floor apartment, was shot as she ran from the house, Figueroa said. She died shortly after being rushed to Erie County Medical Center. Her 8-year-old daughter was wounded and was treated at a hospital and released.

Police believe two men ran from the house to a waiting vehicle. The killings are possibly drug related, Figueroa said.

No arrests had been made late Sunday afternoon, but police had identified two men as "persons of interest" and had brought one of them in for questioning while continuing to seek the other, Figueroa said.
