Buffalo, NY – A Buffalo firefighter killed in Iraq will be laid to rest this Friday. Funeral arrangements are complete 32-year-old Christopher Dill.
Dill was killed last Monday during an ambush in Iraq. He was serving as a sergeant with the Army Reserve's 98th Division based in Rochester.
His funeral will be held Friday morning at Saint Edmund's Church in Tonawanda. A wake for Dill will be held tomorrow and Thursday at Amigone's Funeral Home on Sheridan drive in Tonawanda.
Dill was a Buffalo firefighter at Engine 21 on Jefferson Avenue. He was called to active duty last October.
Dill had been serving as a reservist for 14 years, and also served in the Gulf War.
The Buffalo Professional Firefighters Union has established a Christopher Dill Fellowship Foundation in his memory.
Wednesday would have marked Dill's seventh anniversary as a firefighter.
