Buffalo, NY – US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton became ill during a speaking engagement in Buffalo Monday afternoon. But she continued with her series of appearances.
Senator Clinton was addressing a women's political action committee at the Saturn Club when she felt faint from a flu-like illness.
According to an eyewitness account, Clinton told about 100 people she wasn't feeling well and needed to sit down to deliver her speech. She then left the podium to remove a sweater. Upon returning, Clinton said she could not continue. As she was starting to collapse, Clinton was caught by an assistant and eased into a chair.
Clinton was able to leave the Saturn Club on her own and did not require hospitalization. She was able to keep a second speaking engagement at Canisius College in Buffalo.
