Buffalo, NY – The University at Buffalo has suspended three soccer players following a hazing episode that put a freshman player in the hospital.
The incident allegedly took place at a campus party last month. The university declined to release details, but said the hazing involved alcohol consumption. The freshman, who was not identified, was hospitalized for several hours.
The university had suspended the entire soccer team's practices for four days beginning September 27, while the investigation was under way.
Campus police say the incident is being handled administratively and that the students involved in the alleged hazing will not face criminal charges.
