Buffalo, NY – The City of Buffalo is ready to showcase its diverse theater district. Curtain Up 2004 takes place Friday night in downtown Buffalo.
Curtain Up is designed to kick off the start of a new Fall theatre season. Theater goers will enjoy a variety of entertainment from traditional musicals, to local creations, featuring poetry and comedy. There's also opera, dance, art, photography and films.
This year 14 area theaters are participating. A sold-out black-tie dinner opens the event at 5:30pm on the stage at Shea's. A number of restaurants and other entertainment venues will participate.
The performances begin at 8:30. Then around 10:30pm a street party begins. It will include live bands and dancing along Main Street and the theatre district --that part of the event is free and open to the public.
This is the 23rd year for Curtain Up in Buffalo.
