Niagara Falls, NY – Niagara University graduate and former NBA player Andy Walker returned to the Cataract City Thursday to deliver a motivational talk to youngsters.
Walker, also a former Falls council member, said he hopes kids listen closely to his message that emphasizes education.
Walker, who now works for the Berkshire Farm Center, said he still keeps close ties to the area.
"It's always nice to be welcomed back at a place where you have so many fond memories," said Walker. "You know, being a student at Niagara University, and then coming back as a coach at Niagara University, and then being a councilman, I think I did a few things here during that span, but it's always nice to come back and see friends and, you know, people you used to see in the stands or, you know, on the streets of Niagara Falls."
Walker's speech was part of the third annual Community Kids Day, which brings families from the east side of Niagara Falls out for an afternoon of food, music and face painting.
