Buffalo, NY – A grand jury indicted two former Erie County highway employees from the Aurora Highway Garage.
Former District Highway Supervisor Douglas Naylon and Dan Sutton both pleaded not guilty Tuesday. Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark said both are accused of using County property for private use.
But Clark said the indictment is only a small part of the grand jury investigation.
He said a sealed report has been handed up that reviews practices and behaviors in the highway division of the Erie County Public Works Department.
"The lion share of what they did is contained in that report. That report will not be made public until the judge decides to do so, said Clark."
The investigation followed an audit released last October by the Erie County Comptroller Nancy Naples revealing purchasing abuses.
