Thursday at the Square Features Country, Blues and Rock

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Place has unveiled the schedule of this summer's concerts at Thursday at the Square.

This is the 18th season of the popular concert series. Marketing Manager Steven Joseph said it will feature a wide variety of musical genres.

"This year, we have a little bit of everything for everyone," Joseph said. "We have some country, blues and rock 'n roll."

One of the highlights is a concert featuring the Grammy Award winning group, Arrested Development. Also appearing will be Leon Redbone, Vince Neil of Motley Crue and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. The first concert, with rock singer Sam Roberts, is scheduled for Thursday, May 27th. The complete schedule is at the Buffalo Place web site.

Joseph says the weekly series has a significant impact on the downtown economy.

"For every dollar that Buffalo Place invests in the Thursday at the Square series, $6.38 is returned to the local economy," Joseph said.

Thursday in the Square concerts attract as many as 18,000 people to Lafayette Square downtown.
