Buffalo, NY – Two state legislators are introducing a bill that would raise the legal age for the sale of tobacco products in New York to 19.
Right now, New Yorkers must be at least 18 years old to purchase cigarettes, cigars and other tobacco products. But under legislation sponsored by State Assemblywoman Sandra Galef of Westchester County and State Senator James Alesi of the Rochester area, that age would rise to 19.
