Buffalo, NY – The Louis P. Ciminelli Construction Companies will purchase the National Fuel Gas Building downtown and will move its headquarters there.
The announcement by the Ciminelli companies late Wednesday afternoon was significant. It was feared National Fuel's move from downtown to Amherst would leave behind yet another vacant building.
Ciminelli Construction will move its headquarters from Franklin Street to the 21-story building in Lafayette Square, occupying 40,000 of the building's 173,000 square feet.
Chairman Louis Ciminelli says the move will allow the company to consolidate several divisions under one roof. Terms of the sale were not disclosed in a statement released to the media. Company officials were unavailable for comment.
National Fuel will continue to operate a consumer assistance center on the first floor. The remaining 110,000 square feet are available for lease and will be marketed by a subsidiary, Ciminelli Real Estate.
