Buffalo, NY – The Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce is out with a study on how the local share of revenue from the Seneca Niagara Casino should be spent. Chamber President Robert Newman says they would like to see a large percentage of the local share dedicated to economic development.
"A majority of the money should be committed or dedicated to an economic development fund that benefits the community," Newman said. "We need to invest in the community on a long-term basis, rather than taking a short-term 'band-aid' approach."
Newman says a smaller percentage should be given to the city to cover expenses directly related to hosting the casino. The first revenue check from the casino is expected to arrive sometime after the first of the year.
