Peace Bridge Workshops Resume

By Joyce Kryszak

Buffalo, NY – During a series of workshops this week, the Public Bridge Authority will discuss their recommendation to keep the Peace Bridge plaza where it is.

WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with Bridge Expansion Project Manager Bruce Campbell about where the project stands.

It began as a nearly done deal almost six years ago. But the Authority's sketch of an unimaginative twin span soon became a blueprint for protracted public debate.

Hundreds of ideas, designs, and arguments followed. The new selection and environmental process have been open to public comment, such as the workshops being held this week.

But the downside is how long it's taking. And project Manager Bruce Campbell says it's still a long way from here to there.

You can hear the interview by clicking the "listen" icon above.

Anyone who is interested is invited to attend this week's workshops and offer their feedback.

Tuesday's workshop is at St. Michael's Hall in Fort Erie. Wednesday night's workshop is at D'Vouville College in Buffalo. Thursday night's workshop is at the Polish Cadet's Center in Buffalo. The same information will be presented at all three meetings, which run from 6 PM until 9 PM.
