An East Aurora music festival celebrates a decade of music.By Bill Raffel, WBFO

Buffalo, NY – The Roycroft Chamber Music Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary. Good morning. I'm Bill Raffel with Music Notes.

This piece, called Contrasts by Bela Bartok, will be one of the selections heard over the next two weekends at Saint Matthias Episocopal Church in East Aurora. Eugene Gaub and Nancy McFarland Gaub founded the festival two years before Gene joined the faculty of Grinnell College in Iowa. But for the last eight years, they've been coordinating things from a distance.

Gene and Nancy McFarland Gaub return to East Aurora this week, to lead the Roycroft Chamber Music Festival at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church. Recitals take place this Saturday (6/14) and Sunday (6/15) at 7?p.m. with two more the following weekend. Visit the Roycroft website for a complete list of the performers and repertoire.

Also this week, the Buffalo Philharmonic pays tribute to Sarah Vaughn with vocalist Diane Reeves Friday (6/13) at 7:30?p.m. and Saturday (6/14) at 8?p.m. in Kleinhans, before saluting Nat King Cole with help from the John Pizzarelli Trio Sunday (6/15) at 7:30?p.m.

The Orchard Park Symphony performs Thursday (6/12) at 7?p.m. in the Quaker Arts Pavilion in Orchard Park.

Saint Anthony's Church welcomes a chamber orchestra for mostly Italian works Friday (6/13) at 7:30?p.m. The church is located on Court Street behind City Hall.

Graham Blyth dedicates the new organ at the Church of Ascension tonight (Monday?6/9) at 7?p.m. at the corner of Linwood and North.

And the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus is auditioning singers Tuesday (6/10) from 7-10?p.m. You must be able to read music. For more information, call 833-6642.
