Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Philharmonic welcomes a guest conductor from down Interstate 90. Good morning. I'm Bill Raffel with Music Notes.
Jajha Ling has spent the past 18 years as Resident Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra. He will still lead the orchestra in the summer as director of the Blossom Festival but now is becoming the Music Director of the San Diego Symphony.

Also this week, BPO musicians conclude the Chamber Music on Elmwood series with Bach's Third Brandenberg Concerto Sunday at 7?p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church at the corner of Elmwood and West Ferry.
At Blessed Sacrement Church on Delaware near Utica, the Vocalis Chamber Ensemble presents an all acapella program Wednesday at 7:30?p.m. and the church choir is in concert there Friday at 7:30. Some BPO Musicians will also give a free recital Wednesday (5/28) at 12:10?p.m. in the downtown library.
Over at Parkside Lutheran at the corner of Depew, Wallace, and Linden, the Parkside Choir gives a free concert of favorite works Sunday afternoon at 4?p.m. Quatuor Bozzini concludes the Slee Beethoven cycle Friday at 8?p.m. in Slee Hall.
And a gifted 19 year old Israeli Pianist will perform Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata plus works of Chopin. Alona Vigovsky has studied at Chatauqua and will perfomr at the Amherst Jewish Community Center Tuesday (5/27) at 7:30?p.m.
