Buffalo, NY – It's spring on the calendar, but winter is still in the air. The National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory for much of Western New York, and a winter storm warning for the western Southern Tier.
Snow was expected to move into the Southern Tier Monday morning, accumulating four to seven inches along the New York-Pennsylvania state line by 6pm Monday with another inch or two overnight.
In the immediate Buffalo area, two to four inches could accumulate by 6pm Monday and another one to three inches overnight.
More than 300,000 homes lost electricity since Friday's icy weather across New York State. Outages stretched from Niagara Falls to Albany.
About 100,000 electricity customers remained without power Monday morning. Utility crews from as far away as Maine and Maryland were called in to help restore electricity to affected customers.
