Buffalo, NY – Another round of lake effect snow is moving across the region today. A cold front will deliver a general snowfall of about an inch or two of snow to much of New York State, but up to six inches is possible in the Southern Tier.
As the winds veer to the northwest behind the front, lake effect snows will develop during the afternoon and continue overnight.
Off Lake Erie, lake effect snows will become more concentrated over the western Southern Tier where 3 to 6 inches of snow are possible in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties by this evening with another 2 to 4 inches possible overnight.
Lesser amounts ranging from 2 to 4 inches are possible over Allegany, southern Erie and Wyoming counties.
