Buffalo, NY – City, county and state officials are working to keep the Sabres in Buffalo.
The Buffalo News reports top aides to Erie County Executive Joel Giambra are working with Empire State Development officials and city leaders to broker an aid package to assist Mark Hamister in his bid to buy the team.
Giambra said he has a dollar amount in mind that the county can commit, but that he'll need outside help to get to the twenty-five million dollars requested for improvements to HSBC Arena.
He also said he is legitimately nervous about the chances of keeping the Sabres here.
