Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Anthony Masiello and Erie County Executive Joel Giambra were in New York City Thursday for a meeting with National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman on the status of the Buffalo Sabres.
Giambra says that the league is concerned about the team's worsening financial condition, including the possibility of imminent bankruptcy.
Giambra also says the purchase bid by Mark Hamister and Todd Berman does not include public funds, but that tax money will be needed to help pay operating costs at HSBC Arena.
