Buffalo, NY – Children's Hospital in Buffalo will soon have a brand new Breast Health Center for women.
Kaleida Health announced creation of the center Monday. It will focus on delivering top breast cancer care and virtually eliminate the wait time for patients.
Dr. Kenneth Eckhert will head up the center. He says it will allow doctors to speed up the process for women who suspect they have breast cancer once a lump is discovered.
"What women want is an expedited process from the time of suspicion to the time of resolution of the problem," Eckhert said. "Looking into this, even at a comprehensive breast center, can be a three to five week ordeal."
Kaleida CEO William McGuire says the fifth floor of Children's will be transformed into the new center. It is expected to open by the Spring of 2003.
