Buffalo, NY – Rochester businessman Thomas Golisano has made what's described as a "concrete proposal" to purchase the Buffalo Sabres hockey franchise.
But Tuesday's Buffalo News reports Golisano's bid is not yet considered an "official" offer because of some lingering questions that remain unanswered.
Golisano, who is also running for governor on the Independence Party line, said it would not be appropriate to discuss details of the financial package he is offering for the team.
He did say that he has a group of about ten Buffalo and Rochester investors, with the main goal to keep the team in Buffalo.
"Our primary concern is that we keep the team in Western New York, in Buffalo. I want to do everything I can that's reasonable and rational to make that happen," Golisano told the News.
