Buffalo, NY – UB's new concert season opens this Friday (8/30) with a recital for organ, piano, cello, and voice. Good morning. I'm Bill Raffel with Music Notes.
As he's done for the last two years, Roland Martin will be the first faculty member from the UB music department to give a recital, including many works he composed or arranged. This is the third movement of Saint-Saens Symphony Number Three - the Organ Symphony - in its original version for full symphony orchestra and organ. But on Friday, cellist Bryan Eckenrode will join Roland for a duet.
Works of Robert Schumann will round Roland Martin's recital, Friday (8/30) at 8 p.m. in Slee Hall on UB's North Campus. Soprano Christen Gregory and Cellist Bryan Eckenrode will also perform.
