Derby, NY – New Era Cap workers will be voting once again on a new contract.
On Monday, workers rejected the tentative deal between the company and the Communications Workers of America.
But Wednesday the Communications Workers of America, CWA Local 11477 met with members to clear up outstanding issues.
Vice president of the union, Kathleen Ketterer said workers misunderstood that eighty six workers would be laid off under the contract agreement.
Ketterer said the contract does call for twenty six workers to be laid off for up to twelve weeks as changes at the plant are conducted, but the international union will pay those workers.
The union said the new new contract addresses "every issue" workers had with the Debry cap maker.
Voting takes place from 9am until 6pm on Thursday.
