Buffalo, NY – Classical Music Concerts This Week

17-year old German organist Felix Hell performs Friday (4/5) at 8PM in UB's Slee Hall. Yes, that really is his name. And the Amherst Saxophone Quartet teams up with the UB Percussion Ensemble Saturday (4/6) at 8PM, also in Slee.

The Buffalo Philharmonic welcomes Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra Sunday (4/7) at 7:30PM.

The Burchfield-Penney Arts Center at Buffalo State College presents an electronic sound festival called "Signals from the Electric Cloud", as part of an exhibit the gallery. Performances take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday April 4th through 6th at 8PM and Sunday, April 7th at 2PM - either in the Burchfield-Penney or the main Auditorium in Rockwell Hall on Elmwood Avenue.

The Buffalo Recorder Society is sponsoring a daylong workshop on Saturday, April 13th with Early Music specialist Gwyn Roberts. You'll work on canons, canzones, and fugues up until the time of Bach. It takes place at the First Baptist Church of East Aurora on 591 Portville Road between 9AM and 4PM, and you could choose to come either in the morning or afternoon alone. Finally, the Pittsburgh Unitarian Universalist Folk Orchestra is in concert Saturday (4/6) at 7PM in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo at 695 Elmwood Avenue. A special children's concert takes place on the same day at 4PM.
