Buffalo, NY – Erie County and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development have unveiled a new program to allow local non-profit housing providers to purchase FHA foreclosed properties for one dollar.
The purchaser must then renovate the home and sell it to a low-income family. Erie County executive Joel Giambra says the program will help rejuvenate blighted housing stock while increasing home ownership opportunities and putting properties back on the tax rolls.
