Buffalo, NY – The 79th annual Catholic Charities Appeal topped its $10 million goal Sunday evening.
The final total was $10,022,152.89.
"Once again, Western New Yorkers show they know how to respond to people in need, in good times and bad," Bishop Henry Mansell said.
Catholic Charities is the area's largest private provider of social services. The agency helps tens of thousands of local residents, regardless of their religious affiliation.
Bishop Mansell notes 93-cents of every dollar raised are used to provide services.
