THE MAKE LEMON AIDE FOUNDATION RAISES MONEY TO SUPPORT
AND CELEBRATE THOSE LIVING WITH CEREBRAL PALSY
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is often referred to as the forgotten disability. The Foundation hopes to raise $180,000 to send
“CP Warriors” for life-changing therapy here in WNY
WHO: The Make Lemon Aide Foundation (MLAF) for Cerebral Palsy (CP)
WHAT: The MLAF for CP is celebrating 12 years of service and shows no signs of stopping, so get your sneakers, wheelchairs or inline skates ready for one of the area’s most inclusive events of the year.
The organization’s Laps of Love fundraising event aims to provide neurological physical therapy grants to individuals living with CP in the WNY region, giving them the opportunity to receive a cutting-edge physical therapy method called First Step Recovery Model (FSRM) from the foremost experts at First Step Buffalo.
First Step Buffalo opened in Cheektowaga in July 2022 and has been able to treat multiple“ CP Warriors” from across the region.
WHY: In the U.S., 10,000 babies are born each year with cerebral palsy, making it the
most common motor disability for children. Despite its prevalence, there is
currently no federal funding for CP research.
