Buffalo, NY – Walmart is considering opening a new store on Seneca Street near the border of Buffalo and West Seneca.
The long vacant retail site at 2400 Seneca Street in being considered as the location for a 115,000-square-foot facility that would create 300 new jobs. Company officials say the store would incorporate green-building concepts including skylights to reduce energy costs.
A current building on the site was once home to Twin Fair, Gold Circle and Ames.
Walmart operates 12 stores in Western New York and must still submit formal plans before gaining Common Council approval.
