Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced Wednesday that his gun buy-back program will take place on Saturday, June 2nd.
Brown said 4,200 guns were turned in during a recent buy-back in Chicago. He says his program will use some of Chicago's best-practices, such as having churches serving as locations where guns are turned in.
Police commissioner McCarthy Gipson says pre-paid credit cards will be offered in increments depending on the type of weapon turned in. He says $10 will be offered for antiques and replicas, $75 for handguns and a maximum $100 for assault-style weapons.
