UN Global Warming Expert Weighs in on Climate Change in WNY

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A global warming expert from the United Nations was in Buffalo this week offering his expertise on the subject. He appeared Tuesday at the Buffalo Museum of Science and was asked about climate changes in Western New York.

Mohammad Reza Salamat is a UN senior program officer on sustainable development. He has worked many years on climate change.

Salamat appeared at the Museum of Science to help promote an upcoming exhibit called "Globeo --nature's story of climate change" that begins March 10th. He says global warming is the "issue of the day" Salamat says he believes there is a need for specific studies to be conducted right here in Western New York to learn more about climate changes in this region.

The Buffalo Science Museum's "Globeo" exhibit has been designed to teach us how to make sense of evidence of climate change and how it has impacted not only the world, but our region.
