The Healing Power of Music

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Studies show that music can have a healing effect on the body. The American Cancer Society says music therapy, when combined with conventional treatments, reduces pain and anxiety. Wednesday night, the healing power of music will explored in a program sponsored by the Cancer Wellness Center at Daemen College.

Dr. Cheryl Nosek is an assistant professor of nursing at Daemen College. She'll be helping to facilitate the discussion on the healing power of music. Dr. Nosek joined WBFO's Mark Scott on the phone to talk more about it. Click the "listen" icon above to hear the interview now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
