Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Common Council members will soon vote on a new council map drawn by a citizens panel.
The Buffalo Citizens Advisory Commission on Reapportionment, using new census data, approved the re-drawn districts lines Tuesday and will now send their map to the Council for approval.
Matthew Brown, co-chair of the of Commission said the panel achieved all of its objectives in drawing the new map.
The commission approved its work in a 5-1 vote.
The lone dissenter on the panel, while mostly pleased with the design, claimed that more could have been done to avoid disrupting neighborhoods.
