Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Common Council has once again delayed a vote on $22 million in bond resolutions. But lawmakers say they are closer to an agreement with the Mayor.
Lawmakers quickly gaveled a special session Friday and recessed until Monday afternoon. Mayor Byron Brown accuses five lawmakers of trying to increase pork spending in their districts. But Lovejoy District Council member Richard Fontana says the funds should be distributed to all council districts. He says four districts are left out of funding for repairs for sidewalks and curbs.
But Fontana says they are now talking with the mayor and expect a deal by Monday.
