Buffalo, NY – The enduring love for Lucille Ball has produced every kind of memorabilia imaginable. There are Lucy posters and books, Lucy videos and even Lucy lunch boxes. But visitors to Jamestown this weekend for the annual Lucy Birthday Celebration will get a look at the newest incarnation of Lucy in a new book titled "I Love Lucy Paper Dolls."
It was written by Allan Glaser, who wrote for amazingly funny shows, such as M*A*S*H. But Glaser says it was growing up watching Lucy that taught him about funny. She was his inspiration. So, when he met her costume designer, Eloise Jenssen, Glaser hit on the perfect way to imortalize his favorite comedienne. Glaser says everybody knows that Lucy was funny. But because the show was filmed in black and white, her fans never got a chance to see Lucy's distinctive style -- in living color.
