Buffalo, NY – Corpus Christi parish in Buffalo's Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood is under new administration.
The Pauline Fathers, based in the Philadelphia area, officially took over the parish, which was founded 106 years ago by the Franciscans. Auxiliary bishop Edward Grosz concelebrated Mass Sunday to mark the transition.
The Franciscans cited the declining number of priests available to serve a shrinking base of parishioners when they first announced they would close the mainly Polish-American church last spring.
The Pauline order stepped in since then to keep the parish open.
