Buffalo, NY – The University at Buffalo broke ground Thursday for a new building on the North Campus. The new Alfiero Center will be part of the School of Management. It's being named in honor of Sal and Jeanne Alfiero, who are largely making the center possible with a donation of two million dollars.
School of Management Dean John Thompson said the center will be more than just a building.
"The Alfiero Center represents what all of us in the School of Management know to be true -- it will promote our enduring values of creating new knowledge, service to the community and a commitment to the education of our students," Thompson said.
At a total cost of $7 million, the Alfiero Center will be three stories high and will house administrative offices, high-tech classrooms and even an Internet Cafe.
Construction will begin in May and is expected to take two years to complete.
