Local postal worker accused of withholding hundreds of pieces of mail

A postal carrier assigned to the West Seneca office was arrested Tuesday night at the Peace Bridge. Authorities allege hundreds of pieces of mail - including political pieces and three absentee ballots - were found in thr trunk of his auto.

According to a criminal complaint, Brandon Wilson was stopped at the Peace Bridge as inspectors found a bin with the mail. According to WKBW-TV, three absentee ballots sent from the Erie County Board of Elections to two Buffalo addresses were found among the stash. So, too, were 106 political mailings.

The Buffalo News reports the cancellation dates on the more than 200 first class mailings had cancellation dates between September 16 and October 26.

Calls by WBFO to the US Attorney's Office and Postal Service Office of Inspector General were not returned as of early Thursday afternoon.
