Buffalo, NY – The twelve year old Jamestown girl who was abducted Friday morning is now safely back home.

The girl was taken from her house and driven to a remote area near the town of Poland. She was able to escape and to run to a nearby house for help. The area where the girl was taken is described by Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley as an unofficial campground.

Police have recovered an abandoned mini-van that fits the description of that used in the abduction. It is a gold colored vehicle that was stolen Wednesday from a used car lot in Pomfret.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin, white male, between five feet five inches and five feet nine inches. He has blond hair and appears to be in his mid-20's to 30's. It is unclear if he is armed.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Jamestown Police.
