Buffalo, NY – A Buffalo woman faces felony charges for brining a grenade-like device into the Erie County Family Court Building.
But after an examination by the bomb squad, the Erie County Sheriff's Department says the grenade-like device was an "imitation device". Investigators say she used a handle for a gear shifter in a vehicle.
24 year old Tauyara Mapps of Buffalo has been charged with placing a false bomb in a public place in the first degree. It is a felony charge.
Buffalo Police spokesman Mike DeGeorge says he expects Mapps arraigned Friday in City Court.
