Buffalo, NY – An attempt by McKinley High School principal Crystal Barton to remove Ralph Hernandez from the Buffalo Board of Education has been rejected by state education commissioner Richard Mills on a technicality.
Mills has ruled that Barton did not directly tell Hernandez that she wanted to challenge his position.
Meanwhile, arbitrators held a hearing Thursday on complaints by Barton that Hernandez submitted a critical anonymous letter to school superintendent James Willliams.
Barton says her union's collective bargaining agreement was violated because she was never notified about the letter. Herendez was the one who gave the letter to Schools superintendent James Williams.
