Genesee County Crash Kills Family of Four

By Mark Wozniak

Bethany, NY – A family of four from Batavia was killed instantly when their minivan hit a tractor-trailer head on along Route 63 in the Genesee County town of Bethany Sunday.

The family is identified as 35-year-old Peter J. Boyce of Batavia, his 33-year-old wife, Connie, and their children, 9-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Bradley. Brian Hack, 47, the truck driver from Welland Ontario, was physically unhurt, although he is despondent over the accident.

Due to the severity of the accident, counseling is being made available to first responders at the Bethany fire hall Monday.

The two-lane highway, which is heavily travelled between the Thruway interchange in Batavia and I-390 near Geneseo, was closed for several hours.
